About the Library The material at Sheffield University Library is derived from four principal collections: the Rare Book Collection, a general collection of pre-1851 items, with a wide subject range, including a collection of 17th century drama which is of regional significance. 
Collection Highlights Collection 1: The Sheffield Infirmary Donation includes a number of pre-1700 British books relating to medical works, presented in 1901.

Collection 2: The Pamphlet Books Collection includes a large collection of civil war tract materials bequeathed by the distinguished historian Charles Harding Firth (1857-1936).

Collection 3: The Parish Libraries Collection consists of the parochial collections of Bradfield, Norton (in Derbyshire), Tankersley, and Worsborough.
